About the course

What will we do at this class?

We will begin with a brief overview of the art of bonsai. A discussion of the ecology and care needs of each species that students have selected will follow. We will review the existing design of the trees and discuss options to embellish or improve what the tree has to offer through pruning. Based on the student's selection of the most pleasing design, the instructor will help guide the tree onto that chosen path and shape. Care guidelines for year-round success will be provided.

Who should attend?

Those interested in horticulture and this fascinating practice of creating and connecting with nature in miniature. Perfect for the Bonsai Beginner - no prior experience necessary.

Pen and paper

Willingness to learn and expand your aesthetic and horticultural skill set

3-hour class

1 Juniper Bonsai Tree and pot (you can trade-out the juniper for a different type If you'd like)

1 roll of Bonsai wire

1 pair of Bonsai shears
